Andrea colored her family tree in her Primary Class today. She was also star of the week this week. This is the first time that she didn't cry when she got star of the week. They haven't given it to her in a while because the last two times that she has gotten it she cried. She does not like sudden attention all directed at her. Most kids love that kind of attention. She has to have notice so that she is not caught off guard. I think she has watched other kids get star of the week often enough now that she knew that it was only a matter of time until she got called again. She enjoyed it today and got to dismiss the classes and got some candy which was her favorite part. She wouldn't say anything when she was dismissing classes but she pointed to each class to let them know that they were dismissed. She is getting better at that kind of stuff.
They also had their Primary Presentation in Sacrament today. Nicholas gave a talk about Joseph being sold into slavery and forgiving his brothers and saving his family. Nicholas used to be afraid of speaking in front of people and wouldn't do it for the longest time. Andrea did not have a speaking part but sang all of the songs with the other children. Great job kids!

I had fun working at Rowlett Elementary School on Wednesday. Andrea seemed to be pleased that I was working in her class. I helped do the things that teachers don't have time to do and they taught me how to administer the AR (accelerated reader) tests. After the kids read a book they get to take a computer test on what they read. Those kids are so cute and good with the computer too.

I also got to go to the library with them. They were using the scanner to check in and out their own books! Things have changed. The kids are so good with the scanners too. The librarian monitors everything but she doesn't have to be there every minute.

I'm looking forward to the next time I work there in two weeks.

It seems that there are a lot of people that are moving right now. We know quite a few people who have recently moved or are in the process of moving. We hope everyone is happy with their new situation whatever that may be. We are giving up a home that had a pool but we are gaining more land with a swingset and slide. We are no longer in a subdivision which means that we can do what we want with the land without asking for permission. The subdivision that we were in was not really strict but I never did feel like I could plant a garden. We have about an acre of land and one of the first things we want to do when we get settled is to plant a garden.

We are only five miles away from our old home, so we are just moving things over a little at a time. It has been nice to bring a load and actually set it up at the new house and then go and get another load. We still have boxes around the house, just not as many as we usually have. It is coming along well but is a long process. We have all of the furniture and the big stuff over here, but we have a lot of little stuff in the closets and the nooks and crannys that we still need to bring. We have a lot of work to do at the new house too.
